Bombay Gin

There are presently no open calls for submissions.

Started in 1974, Bombay Gin Literary Journal is the flagship publication of The Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics—co-founded by Allen Ginsberg and Anne Waldman—at Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado. Edited by students, Bombay Gin publishes innovative poetry, prose and hybrid texts as well as art, translations, interviews, and online multimedia content. Emerging from the Outrider or left-hand lineage, which operates outside the cultural mainstream, Bombay Gin honors a heritage of powerful scholarship and counter-poetics through the publication of work that challenges the boundaries of language, form, and genre.

BOMBAY GIN IS OPEN FOR SUBMISSIONS FOR ISSUE 48

SLIT LOOM

Issue 48 is edited and run by the 2023-2024 JKS students and staff. This year marks one of the first times in a long time where the editing staff is majority BIPOC. To celebrate our presence working on this issue, we are embracing and specifically soliciting works from the global majority, Black, Indigenous, People of Color, dual-heritages, people with disabilities, LGBTQIA, immigrants, internationals, and artists who feel marginalized by imperialism. This issue also coincides with Naropa University’s demi-centennial, so please send us your work to join us in celebrating 50 years, and 50 years more!
